-go BEYOND mere plot summary

-ZOOM IN to the passage and interpret
       - thoughts, actions, events, dialogue
       - imagery (word pictures)
       - figurative language (metaphors, etc.)
       - diction (word choice, level of vocabulary)
       - syntax (sentence structure)
       - tone (speaker’s attitude)

- ZOOM OUT to other parts of the text and to larger life issues
       -make connections to other scenes or characters
       -make connections to themes (in the text or in life)
       -make claims
       -make conclusions

• Go to turnitin.com
• Enroll in my tii.com class by logging into your existing account (OR open an account by going to "New User") and then...

    1. click on "enroll in a class" on the left side of the screen
    2. enter the class/section ID and enrollment password for your class

      Class 3: ID = 4199431 password = books

      Class 6: ID = 4199434 password = books

• To submit a paper, click on "submit" next to the assignment, then upload (default) OR cut & paste.
-You may upload files that are: MS Word, WordPerfect, RTF, PDF, PostScript, HTML, and plain text (.txt)
-Follow instructions to cut and paste if you're using a different file type
